In the same year that TAG Heuer celebrated their 160th anniversary, they also marked the 88th birthday of Jack Heuer, the great-grandson of the brand's founder and a former TAG Heuer CEO. During his time heading the Swiss watch brand, Jack Heuer famously gifted several 18 carat gold Carrera watches to Ferrari Formula One drivers as a show of good luck. Now, some forty years later, the luxury watch manufacturer makes the same gesture to their past creator with this TAG Heuer Carrera Jack Heuer Birthday Limited Edition. Limited to 188 pieces, the design commemorates Heuer’s birthday with a modern 42 millimetre 18 carat rose gold case and an off-white dial adorned with an ‘88’ symbol.

The dial of the TAG Heuer Carrera Jack Heuer Birthday watch also makes a home to two black snailed chronograph counters, elegant rose gold indexes, skeletonised rose gold hands, a date window and the words “Heuer 02 80 Hours" which references the movement within. The Calibre Heuer 02 automatic winding movement delivers an impressive 80 hour power reserve, a frequency of 28,800vph and impressive chronograph complication. At the centre, the chronograph seconds hand ticks away while the 12 hours and 30 minutes counters are displayed on the two black subsidiary dials. The Swiss made movement is put on display through the exhibition case back alongside its oscillating rotor engraved with Jack Heuer's motto, "Time never stops, why should we?" Also engraved below it is Jack Heuer's signature. Securing the limited edition TAG Heuer watch to the wrist is a luxurious black alligator leather strap and a matching 18 carat rose gold pin buckle.
